Rock emerges as 'Rock 'n' Roll Jesus'

Kid Rock's latest album Rock 'n' Roll Jesus is a more sophisticated record compared to those in the past for the Detroit native. During a three-year hiatus, the Kid married and divorced Pamela Anderson, and is now laying down the tracks as never before.

As a self proclaimed "Rock 'n' Roll Jesus" he mixes up his usual rock, country and hip- hop cocktail.

In the track "Half Your Age" the Kid describes a girl "half your age and twice as hot," which could be in reference to his ex-wife Anderson whom he divorced in 2006, claiming irreconcilable differences. The couple dated in 2001 and broke up in 2003 only to get back together and join together in the holy union of marriage at the beginning of 2006.

Rumors claim Anderson had a miscarriage in November 2006, which may have led to the early divorce. Both have children from previous relationships. Pamela has two children with Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, while Rock has one son with old girlfriend Kelley South Russell.

Anderson's two leading men, Lee and Rock, got in somewhat of a scuffle during the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. Supposedly Lee taunted Kid Rock from his seat during the award show, only to receive a not-so-dignified punch in the face.

Both men were escorted out of the Las Vegas Pearl Theater. Charges were later filed.

With many changes occurring in Rock's personal life, each track on the album seems to bring out a different personality from the depths of Rock's soul.

The first single "So Hott" brings it back to old school Rock with visions of trailer parks, scantily clad jiggling girls and feather boas, while "Amen" takes a more somber note by discussing the unnecessary deaths of soldiers, seeking salvation and having faith.

Rock is influenced by the Big Easy's deep blues background, while paying homage in the track simply called "New Orleans." On the record's only rap track, "Sugar," Rock plays God's gift to women asking, "Now who's going to give me some sugar tonight?"

No matter how serious he tries to portray himself, Rock is probably shirtless, standing on a car in some dusty town singing, "you got a body like a devil and you smell like sex."

Kid Rock

biography

Detroit native Kid Rock (nee Bob Ritchie) plays ringmaster in a traveling rap/rock circus act, screaming out rhymes while Twisted Brown Trucker grinds out Funk Metal riffs. Although Kid released three albums prior to attaining superstardom, it was Devil Without A Cause (1998) that made him a household name. His high-energy blend of rock, hip-hop, and trailer park pimp imagery has taken the world by storm, earning him legions of fans and a Grammy nomination. The metallic chant-fest "Bawitdaba" and country-tinged "Cowboy" continue to hype listeners around the globe.
